Good Shepherd Mission
Why do we exist?
…to connect people with God and one another in life enhancing ways
We are on a journey. Having initially connected to the Lord, we continue growing in our knowledge and experience of Him. In that process He is transforming us into His own people filled with hope and faith – even in challenging times. So we are eager to live out that new life He is forming in us, and share it with family, friend, co-worker, neighbor and associate. Come connect to the Lord and one another with us.
What will you find at Good Shepherd?
-
A welcoming place where visitors, guests and friends will receive a warm welcome.
-
A family place where couples and singles, young adults and young children, gather with parents and grandparents.
-
A spiritual place where Christians and seekers find opportunities to learn about and connect with God.
-
A contemporary place where praise music, relevant teaching, technology and the arts are cherished.
-
A comfortable place where you can come as you are and be yourself.
-
A safe place where you can share struggles or brokenness and find acceptance.
-
A healing place where God fills broken hearts and broken lives with the hope an joy of His presence.
What's important to us?
- We worship God - coming into His presence to experience and honor Him
- We communicate with God through His word and prayer
- We live beyond ourselves by serving God through serving others
- We cheerfully give time, abilities and finances to advance the mission
- We connect to God and others through fellowship in small groups and team work
- We prepare to share with others our experience of God in a winsome way
Good Shepherd is a Family Place
We welcome all ages from infants to grandma and grandpa as an intergenerational church, offering a Child Development Center as our lead ministry to the community. Therefore, we place a very high value on human life… every child… every senior. We are also a family oriented church which honors the institution of marriage as a union of one man with one woman for life. Singles also hold an honored place among us since we believe everyone needs a family and Good Shepherd seeks to be family to those who worship with us and join us for fellowship. As an evangelical church we seek to demonstrate love and respect for all persons, regardless of their level of income, gender, age or political orientation, especially those who feel themselves to be unworthy or broken by the trials of life. As a member of the LCMS, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church expresses its sincere concern over decisions currently reported in the news about actions taken by another Lutheran Church body, the ELCA, on its stance concerning the inclusion of same sex partners as pastors and members of their church staffs.
